Accommodation can be either on one of our selected Hotels, or on a more budget oriented apartment. Choose between an Apartment with Kitchen, downtown Funchal City (Capital of Madeira), or any 3 to 5 Stars recommended Hotels.

João definitely challenged us, while not overwhelming us. Because of the clouds the views werent great but we still got to see plenty of the great nature here.
My mom didn't have any offroad experience, but with joãos help she got pretty confident real quick.

I was very excited and had a lot of respect for what lay ahead of me, as I had never ridden an enduro motorbike before, only road bikes and mountain bikes. My mountain biking experience helped me a lot when riding the Husqvarna on the wet and slippery trails.
It rained all day, it was wet, cold, muddy, and "Madeira Ice" caused me to fall more than once. For João, this was never a problem; he would just get up, carry on, and try the next challenge. And when the mud really made it impossible to continue, he always helped and even rode parts of the trail himself when I couldn't get any further. Despite the weather, or perhaps because of it, the day was super exciting and, right up to the last minute, one of the best adventures I've ever had.
Thank you for the experience and for constantly challenging me. I can absolutely recommend João and Enduro Madeira. He gets there gradually and even gives him some advice (which I ask him) because he manages the boy!!!

I went on a three-day cross/enduro tour in Madeira with my two brothers, organized by Mountain Gadget – and honestly, it was one of the best experiences of my life!
Our guide João was absolutely amazing. Even though we were all beginners, he perfectly adjusted the rides to our skill level, so we always felt safe but still had plenty of excitement and fun. You could really tell how experienced he is – he knew exactly how to motivate us and guide us through every type of terrain.
On top of that, João is just a genuinely friendly and helpful guy. You can ask him anything – whether it’s about riding techniques or just general tips about the island – and he’s always happy to help.

Never ridden a dirt bike? No problem, for the first hour, your experienced guide Joao will give you lessons on how to ride it. Then you'll be good enough to ride off-road in the forest of Madeira 🙂
Joao will choose the right roads based on your offroad experience.
If you are not a beginner, You can even choose a few-day trip around the island of Madeira - an incredible experience!
But if you're a beginner like my husband and I were (we only ride Harleys), a 3 hour trip is enough to have a lot of fun.
Mountain Gadget provides you with comprehensive services:
- they will lend you all the equipment (helmet, goggles, gloves, pants, T-shirt, protectors, boots, backpack)

Day was sufficiently challenging but not too crazy for us. Explored locations we’d never get to without being shown.

Nuno, our guide, took the time to assess our riding skills to cater the day around our abilities. We were shown some breathtaking mountaintops for once in a lifetime photos opportunities and of course some technical hill climbs to keep the adrenaline pumping! All the equipment we rented was well maintained and we had lots of bikes to choose from.

It's the perfect activity for people who are into off-roading and want to experience the island in a completely different way. I was out with João today; he gave me lots of great tips and took excellent care of me the whole time. It was the perfect mix of being shown around and learning by doing. It was worth every penny, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Not only did I improve my off-road skills, but I also had the opportunity to see places on Madeira that you can't see on any other guided tour.

Awesome experience!
I am really glad my first contact with enduro bikes was in Madeira with João. Highly recommend as he is very patient, supporting and a very good instructor + really cool guy overall 🙂 Bikes were very well prepared, trails were difficult enough so we could progress and train, but not to the point we would feel completely discouraged.

I had the best time!! João Did a great job at figuring out my level of riding and then finding trails that were perfect for my ability. His gear was in great condition and he had different bikes that you can choose. He was patient and extremely supportive with my riding. He is knowledgeable in both dirt biking and local information. He is an excellent guide and I can’t wait to do this again with him.

What a day out!! I'd never riden a dirt bike before and I was nervously excited beforehand. It was such a learning curve, such a lot to take in. It was hard work both physically and mentally. I was well out of my comfort zone and encouraged to do what I thought I couldn't. I needed that encouragement and that little push to progress. Joao was excellent, a good teacher, very knowledgeable and really nice bloke. I definitely progressed and gained confidence as the day wore on. I loved it and wished I'd booked more than one day.

João was an amazing instructor! It’s unbelievable how much knowledge and experience you can get from just a half-day lesson. If you want to learn and build your skills this is the place! Touring Madeira with João is fantastic, the scenery is beautiful, and you are guaranteed to have a memorable experience. I definitely want to come back with my wife next time and experience Enduro Madeira again!

Great experience. The guys have several different bikes available and rent you all the necessary gear. We rode on various mule tracks and then spent time at an enduro training ground and on a very nice motocross track. I recommend it to all enthusiasts.

He gets there gradually and even gives him some advice (which I ask him) because he manages the boy!!!

Absolutely Fantastic, what an amazing experience. João organised everything, including airport transfer and accommodation, making the tour such a memorable experience. The bikes were prepared and ready to go when we arrived at the garage each morning, the trails were amazing which João planned the route each day to suit our capability including some challenging routes to push our limits and improve our skills all helped by João extensive knowledge of the islands trails.
We will definitely be back to explore more of the island and ride with João again soon.

A great way to see Madeira from a different perspective. Basic motorcycle riding skills are required, but Joerge will adapt the route to your riding skills. In addition to the guarantee of fantastic views, you can learn a lot about the island and at the same time improve your off-road skills. Apart from the fact that the guide/instructor is very communicative, he drives fantastically and you can learn a lot. 100% recommend! 🙂

Unfortunately I only spent one day with João, but next time I know I will book more days!
He catered to every driver's every request and showed us the beautiful forests and landscapes of Madeira. You get everything on site and don't actually have to take anything with you, the equipment and bikes were in very good condition!
João hasn't seen the last of me😉

Asked for a 3 hour Hard enduro ride and got exactly that! Bikes are in good shape, the trails are amazing and the views insane. The owner and guide, João, was great fun and tailored the ride to our needs since we wanted to struggle a bit 😅 100% Recommend 👌

We traveled to Madeira Island for the 2025 New Year. My very adventurous boys, husband and father in law decided to take a dirt bike tour with Enduro Madeira. They came home absolutely raving about it. They saw part of the Country that could not otherwise be seen through regular roads. The said it was challenging and rewarding all at once and the best part was that the owner Joao was so incredibly supportive and skilled that they felt at ease navigating the steep mountain side. We would recommend this tour to any outdoor adventurist who enjoys dirt biking and is up for a challenge!!!

Had a day out with Joao last Wednesday. Simple to book, good comms to arrange a route to match what skills I’ve got. Nice 300 Husky with decent kit to wear.
Day was sufficiently challenging but not too crazy for us. Explored locations we’d never get to without being shown.
Joao had all the patience you’d want to improve your bike control.

We had an amazing day today with Enduro Madeira!!! It was my brother in laws first time enduro riding. Nuno, our guide, took the time to assess our riding skills to cater the day around our abilities. We were shown some breathtaking mountaintops for once in a lifetime photos opportunities and of course some technical hill climbs to keep the adrenaline pumping! All the equipment we rented was well maintained and we had lots of bikes to choose from.
